Movie Reviw Of Dammu

NTR, Trisha, Karthika, Nassar, Kota, Suman, Bhanu Priya, Thottempudi Venu, Ahuti Prasad, Rahul Dev, Sridhar Rao, Subhalekha Sudhakar etc
Ramachandra (NTR) - an orphan wants to helps out people and make enough bank balance so that he can settle in life by marrying a girl of his choice. He falls in love with Ashwini (Trisha) at the first sight. He comes to know that a royal family from a distant village are looking to adopt a youngster. Ramachandra approaches them and gets adopted. He goes to a village where there are Faction fights between the royals of the two village. It is the turn of Ramachandra to kill the enemies so that his village gets justice and peace. The rest of the story is all about how differently Ramachandra achieves it.

NTR played the role of an youngster who doesn’ believe in killing. His trasformation from a guy who hates killing to the heir of a dynasty that survives only if it kills is smooth. NTR is slowing making himself very comfortable in casual scenes. He is excellent with mannerisms and in fight sequences.
Others: Trisha is alright in a role that has not much of footage. Karthika is good with dances. Nassar comes up with an interesting mustache as villain. Kota has a pivotal role. Suman and Bhanu Priya plays the parents role. Abhinaya (Sabho Siva Sambho) is good as sister of hero. Brahmanandam and Ali are okay. Thottempudi Venu is nice.
Ramachandra (NTR) - an orphan wants to helps out people and make enough bank balance so that he can settle in life by marrying a girl of his choice. The rest of the story is all about how differently Ramachandra achieves it.

Story is the film is about war between two zamindari families who represents a set of villages. Story is an age-old one with a message orientation. Like any other high-voltage faction film, this film too professes that killing is inhumane at the climax after showing thousands of killings. Director Boyapati Seenu succeeded in mounting the fight sequences and build-up scenes well. But didn’t get the balance right in the script. Too much emphasis on violence and sentiment and too little emphasis on entertainment made this film a one-sided one.

Movie Review Of Gabbar Singh

Pawan Kalyan,Shruti Hassan, Abhimanyu Singh, Suhasini, Nagineedu, Ajay, Tanikella Bharani, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Gayatri Rao, Ali, Rao Ramesh, Brahmanandam, Giridhar, Fish Venkat etc
Gabbar Singh (Pawan Kalyan) runs away from home at an early age and become a police officer and gets transferred to his village. He likes his mother (Suhasini) and dislikes his foster father (Nagineedu). Siddhappa Naidu (Abhimanyu Singh) is the big rowdy of the village who has aspirations to become a politician. Gabbar Singh cuts Siddhappa to his size and Siddhappa wants to take revenge. The rest of the story is about how Gabbar Singh executes everything in his style.
It took almost 12 years and a director called Harish Shankar to bring out the character in Pawan Kalyan onto the screen the way people want to see it. Pawan Kalyan scorches the screen with his performance. Pawan Kalyan’s attitude, body language and josh (some may call it over-acting) is perfectly extracted by the director. Pawan Kalyan has shown it again how an actor can own and carry it on when the right character is offered.

Shruti Hassan is adequate as LADY LOVE of Gabbar Singh. Abhimanyu Singh is fine. Ali is hilarious (or the way Pawan tells him ‘samba raasuko’). Brahmanandam is okay in the first half and hilarious in Pawan Kalyan cutout scene in the second half. Suhasini and Nagineedu are good as parents. Tanikella Bharani has been properly utilized in this movie as the mentor of villain. Kota Srinivasa Rao has a short yet important role as heroine’s father. Rao Ramesh played the role of a politician. Ajay is apt for the character of step brother. Gayatri Rao (Happy Days fame) has done the character of heroine’s friend. The rowdy batch (headed by Fish Venkat) is hilarious in Antakshari scene in Police Station.
The story of the film is an old-fashioned, but a workable one. What makes the difference to such an old-type story is the ‘thikka’ characterization by Harish Shankar. There are certain antics of Pawan Kalyan which appear like ‘overr-acting’ if not used well by the director. Harish Shankar has used them excellently to bring out hilariously entertaining episodes. His direction is good, but should have worked more on tight screenplay towards second half. The following scenes are true entertainers
1. When Gabbar Singh introduces himself to the village men after the intro fight.
2. ‘Samba raasuko’ episodes
3. ‘Are Gabbar Singh Ka Fauzia’ episodes
4. Episode before and after Pelli Choopulu failure
5. Antakshari Episode. This is probably the highlight of the film.
6. Brahmanandam cutout buildup episode
7. References episodes (Kushi, Muta Mesthri and Jalsa)
8. Kota Thagubothu song scene

First half of the film is highly entertaining. Second half has some story. Looks like this film is made with the sole purpose of entertainment with a workable script. Pawan Kalyan’s inbuilt mannerism and attitude and merged perfectly by the character written for him. The film has 80% Pawan Kalyan and 20% rest of the cast. Plus points of the film are Pawan Kalyan’s never-before entertainment, Harish Shankar’s dialogues and characterization. The negative points are hurried climax and inadequate screenplay in the second half. The hero is more powerful than villain, hence the hero vs villain thread is weak. On a whole, Gabbar Singh is a good mass entertainer and will satisfy fans and general crowds alike who have been expecting a good entertainer from Pawan Kalyan over a decade.

Movie Review Of Ninnu Chuste Love Vastundi

Prabhu Deva started his directional career with Telugu romantic movie Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, which went on to become a blockbuster in 2005. Though he was showered with offers, he chose to direct a film or two in a year.

He opted action films over romantic genre films and succeeded. Now, he is back to love oriented movie with Ninnu Chuste Love Vastundi.

The choreographer-turned-director roped in chocolate hero Jeyam Ravi and Chinna Khushboo Hansika Motwani for the breezy entertainer.

Billionaire Kamal (Jayam Ravi) has a habit of taking a month off from his busy work schedule to relax and enjoy the life. After a hectic 12 month, he decides go to Paris. He wants to enjoy every minute of his vacation and disconnects his mobile to avoid disturbance.

On the other hand, Kayalvizhi aka Kayal (Hansika Motwani) is a violinist, who is settled in France. In their very first encounter itself, she saves him from getting killed.Unlike every film, hero will not fall in love with heroine.

It is just the opposite of it in Ninnu Chuste Love Vastundi . It is a love at first sight for her and she expresses the same to him. But Kamal, who does not believe in love, rejects her proposal and moves to India.

A year later, they catch up again at the same place. The rest of the story should be seen on-screen.

Performance: Jayam Ravi has given his best performance. It is a tailor-made story and character for him. Especially, he has worked on his expressions and reduced his weight for this film, which are clearly visible on screen. Hansika Motwani, who is referred as junior Kushboo, has given excellent performance.

Her chemistry has gelled well with Ravi. In fact, they share an excellent on-screen chemistry. Raju Sundaram gives the audience comic relief through his dialogues. Rest other characters like Suman, Marion Arnaud have done justice to their roles.

When it comes to the technical team, musician Harris Jayaraj and cinematographer Nirav Shah steal the show. The music director has given one of the best tunes for this film and he also rocks with his background score.

And the cameramen has wonderfully captured the beautiful locales in his lens. It is an eye feast. They are the behind the screen heroes of Ninnu Chuste Love Vastundi . Rest other departments have given their best.

All these credits should go to Prabhu Deva for making such a jolly and a cheerful film. He has taken best out of every cast and crew of the film.

Verdict: In the nutshell, though the movie has quite a few loopholes, it is avoidable, as Ninnu Chusthe Love Vasthundi is a complete family entertainer. Especially, young couples will surely like this film.

It is a great experience to watch the love story at France backdrop.

Movie Review Of Nuvvekkadunte Nenakkadunta

Uday Kiran who rose to fame with director Teja’s ‘Chitram’ and Swetha Basu Prasad who won every body’s heart in ‘Kotta Bangau Lokam’ have come together in this much delayed release ‘Nuvvekkadunte Nenakkadunta’. Produced on Sri Venkateswara Swami Film’s banner, this movie is directed by Subha Selvam, let’s see how it fares.

Hari(Uday Kiran) is all set to get engaged to his uncle’s daughter Nilambari(Arti). Nilambari doesn’t want to marry Hari as he is jobless. In order to help his future son-in law, Nilambari’s father brings Hari to the city and gets him a job in a finance company.

Its love at first sight for Hari after he sees Harita(Shweta basu), who is an orphan and lives in the same neighborhood. Bhadra(Ajith Kumar) who is the dreaded bad guy of the area also loves Harita. In order to avoid Bhadra, Harita gets closer to Hari.

On the other hand, Hari has a unique habit of getting weird dreams, and whatever he sees in his dreams keeps happening in the future. In one particular dream, Hari sees Harita facing huge trouble with Bhadra. In order to save her life he brings her to his village. Does his family accept Harita? Whether his dreams come true? Whether Bhadra finds Harita? forms the rest of the story.

Uday Kiran is decent in the role of Hari, so is Shwetha Basu. First 30 minutes of the post interval part is really interesting. Scenes where Uday Kiran introduces Shweta to his family are good. Comedy by Ashish Vidhyarthi in the second half is decent. Two songs rendered by Pradeep Koneru are ok.

Though having an interesting concept, director Selvam has failed miserably in executing it on the screen. None of the scenes are watchable. The presentation of Uday Kiran’s dreams are really bad. Irrelevant comedy tracks keep coming and going, as if you are watching a B Grade movie. Even the villain Bhadra, was not convincing enough as the bad guy. Rest of the cast didn’t have much to do and disappointed highly. There is absolutely no chemistry between the lead pair.

Dialogues by Janardhan Maharshi are very ordinary. Cinematography is very bad and doesn’t captivate you at all. Editing is weak. Music of the film is very ordinary as none of the tunes are hummable, and other technical departments in the movie are so bad that, there is no need of even mentioning them.

The movie was being postponed from a long time, and you can clearly know the reason. lease ignore this movie even if you have nothing else to do. This movie is not even worth watching on small screen. It’s a total waste of your time and money.

Movie Review Of Endhukante Premanta

In 1980, Krishna (Ram) falls for Srinidhi (Tamannah) but she doesn’t reciprocate his feelings due to family responsibilities. Krishna dies in an accident while trying to save Srinidhi.

In 2012 Sravanthi(Tamannah) is the daughter of a Indian Embassy officer in Paris. She dislikes the heavy security around her due to her father’s position and wants to lead a carefree life.

Ram (Ram) is a happy go lucky guy in Hyderabad who always lands himself in trouble.

Vexed by this his dad (Shiyaji Shinde) tricks him into going to Paris and work there. Both Sravanthi and Krishna try to escape from Paris and come to India for their own motives.

hat happens next? Will they remember their past? These questions are answered in the movie.

Ram is energetic in a role that has become his standard fare. He has a good comedy timing that he utilizes well in the movie. Tamanna Bhatia is good in the variations of her character’s sketch.

Shiyaji Shinde  and Suman are good as the lead pair’s parents. Anu Haasan did a full fledged role in Telugu and performs well. Richard/Rishi is good as the villian. Kona Venkat did a negative role in the movie but it didn’t gel with his personality.

Bramhi did a cameo role in the movie and brings lots of laughs whenever he appears on screen.

The story line of this movie is such that I cannot  write much without spilling the beans. The concept is basically a fantasy drama. There was much more that the director could have done, which could have taken the movie in a different direction.

There are a lot of twists in the movie right up to the climax. There is a sense of Deja-vu in the first half; its very similar to Darling, which incidentally was directed by Karunakaran also.

The second half reminds us of Ready especially the family sequences. Some situations are outright illogical which hamper the narration. The length of the movie is too long and a couple of songs could have been omitted.

There is ample comedy in the first half and 30 minutes into the second half. Ram dances like a charm. All the loose threads in the movie are well tied up in the end.

Watch Endhukante Premanta for brilliant performances from the lead pair Ram and Tamanna and if you like different love stories.

Movie Review Of Ishq

Nitin, Nitya Menen, Ajay, Sindhu Tolani, Nagineedu, Ali, Ravi Prakash, Sudha, Rohini, Satya Krishnan etc

Rahul (Nitin) falls in love with Priya (Nitya) at the first sight. Both of them alight a flight at Delhi to Hyderabad, but is diverted to Goa due to bad weather. They fall in love with each other in Goa. Rahul realises an important thing when they finally land in Hyderabad. The rest of the story is all about how Rahul solves the problem and weds Priya.

Nitin looks completely different in this movie. He is matured as an actor. He tried to be himself and completely justified his character. He has succeeded in getting the minute nuances work with his performance. NityaMenon continued it from where she left in Ala Modalaindi. She is cute and natural. Ajay steals it from everybody whenever he gets a meaty role. In this film too, he made sure that he adds value. Ali is entertaining in a cameo. Nagineedu is good in a vital role. Sindhu Tolani, Satya Krishnan, Supreet and Ravi Prakash are adequate.

Director Vikram pens an interesting story with a ‘brother’ conflict point. He handles the screenplay well and joins all the dots at regular intervals. He handled lots of scenes in first half with dexerity. The characterization done to Nitin and Nitya in the first half is unique and lovable. However, Vikram couldn’t handle the second half the same way. The character of Ajay appears confusing as it vaccilates between being a passionate family man and phychotic revenge seeker.

First half of the film is nice and classy. Second half is ok with commercial twists. The narration of the film is slow. Plus points are good characterizations, nice screenplay, cinematography and music. A compact second half would have been good. Nitin is in his elements in Ishq. Ishq is likely to bring the much needed success to Nitin. You may watch it.

Movie Review Of Raccha

Ram Charam Tej, Tamanna, Ajmal, Mukesh Rushi, Dev Gill, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Nassar, Parthiban, Venu Madhav, Ravi Babu, Srinivasa Reddy, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Thagubothu Ramesh, Ali, Brahmanandam, Dharmavarapu, LB Sriram, Krishna Bhagawan, Fish Venkat, Geetha, Sudha, Geetu Singh, Satya Krishnan, Jhansi, Hema, Pragati, etc

Raj (Ram Charan Tej) is called as betting Raj because of his obsession for betting. James (Ajmal) is his betting enemy. Raj wants 20 lacs for the surgery of his adopted father. James is ready to offer 20 lacs as betting amount if Raj woos and wins over Chaitra (Tamanna). Chaitra is the daughter of a billionaire Bellary (Mukesh Rishi) The rest of the story is all about how Raj makes Chaitra fall for him and the troubles that follow.

Ram Charan has proved himself as a terrific man for the masses with his first two films. He has chosen a safe and time-tested mass script this time. He is excellent with dialogues, dances, fights and mannerisms. You can find a lot of references to Gharana Mogudu in his mannerisms.Tamanna has a weighty role in this movie and does justice. She has danced with amazing fluidity. Ajmal (Rangam fame) plays an important role and he is good. Mukesh Rushi is routine. Brahmanandam’s comedy is partly okay. Ali’s cameo is nice. Parthiban is very good as the father of hero. MS Narayana is a miscast for the role of hero’s adopted father. The Simpathy factor will not work out if you cast a comedian for role of a patient with critical illness. Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao did an important role.

Story of the film is in an old-format. There are a couple of interesting screenplay twists in the second half. Director Sampath Nandi chose this film to be a tribute to Chiranjeevi’s early 90’s films (Gharana Mogudu, Gang Leader etc). If you look at hero’s entrance scene, he gives away winning money to friend sister’s studies. In Gharana Mogudu, hero gives away winning money to hero friend sister’s marriage (chelli nikka pakka). When the purpose is to make a film as a tribute 90’s films, you can’t expect the direction to be fresh and new. Sampath made sure that there are fun elements in the first half and surprise elements in the second half.

First half has a bit of fun. Second half has story and twists. Plus points of the film are Ram Charan Tej and dialogues. On the flip side, freshness in story and better handling of the film would have made this film connect with the contemporary audiences. Racha film is made for fans and masses. This is the first big star film of summer 2012 and it has garnered terrific openings. The success of the film will depend on how masses embrace it.

Movie Review Of Lovely

Aadi, Shanvi, Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore, Ahuti Prasad, Chinmayi Ghatrazu, Harsha Vardhan, Anchal, Rahul Dev, Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Tanikella, Kasi Viswanath, Vinaya Prasad, Master Prem and Babu Tanishka & Satya Krishnan

Akash (Aadi) and Kittu (Vennela Kishore) are friends. Lovely (Sanvi) and Lalli (Chinmayi) are friends. Kittu and Lalli become facebook friends with celebrity profile photos. When they are about to meet in real, Akash and Lovely go to the meeting pretending to be Kittu and Lalli respectively. The rest of the story is all about how they fall in love and how they face the problems following that.

Aadi who has proved to be a good dancer with his first film has come a long way from there. Aadi is spontanious with his acting in casual scenes. His dialogue delivery is good and ability to perform stunts is commend-worthy. The light beard and light mustache added to his look (compared to thick mustache and clean-shaved beard in his debut film. Sanvi is alright as an actress. Vennela Kishore is like a second hero in this film and he carried the entire first half with his impeccable/improvised comedy timing. Chinmayi G is entertaining with her Telangana dialect. Rajendra Prasad is good as a protective father, there is something wrong his character sketch. Ahuti Prasad’s character is something similar to that of one he played in Kotha Bangaru Lokam film. Paruchuri Gopala Krishna is good as a crooked politician. Master Prem is cute.

Jaya’s work in this film is sophisticated. She handled the first half well where you need to get the characterizations and nuances right to set the plot properly. The way hero’s characterization developed is good. However the twist in the second half doesn't work. Screenplay looks good on paper and it works fine in the first half, but the second half screenplay doesn’t get elevated as certain episodes should have been done in a more arresting way. On a whole, Lovely is a better film from Jaya compared to her previous outings.

First half of the film is decent and second half should have been better. Plus points of the film are First half, Aadi, music and dialogues. On the flip side, a better setup of schemes (twists) in second half would have made this movie more arresting. On a whole, Lovely is a better film among the ones directed by Jaya. We need to wait and watch how it fares at box office.

movie Review Of Ee rojullo

Srinivas, Reshma, MS Narayana, Ambati Rambabu, Sai, Gavara Sekhar, Madhumani, Sankar Rao, Kanna, Venky, Bhargavi, Vishnu Priya, Bindu, Rakshita etc

Srinivas (Srinivas) is a gullible lover who gets used by girlfriends for his money. Shreya (Reshma) is fed up with guys who wants to take their friendship to next level in order to have a physical relationship. They happen to meet each other when they decided to not to fall in love. They relationship starts with hatred and lies. The rest of the story is all about how Srinivas and Shreya unite after many twists and turns

95% of the actors in the film are new faces. Hence we see characters and follow the characters instead of actors. Srinivas fits the role well and does a decent job. Reshma has Trisha’s features and the director has succeeded in shooting her in right angles in order to make her appear more like Trisha. She is a nice actress. Sai, who did the stuttering friend role is superb and a big credit should go to the director Maruti for the characterization. MS Narayana’s 5-minutes cameo is entertaining. Ambati Srinivas (Vaddu Saroja fame) is good as a watchman. Bhargavi is spontaneous as a rebel friend of heroine. All other actors have performed with ease.

The story is about a right couple who had bitter experiences with wrong counterparts in this contemporary set-up. The entire first half is a satire on current day’s youth and their materialistic attitude. The second half dwells on the real conflict point. Director Maruthi has directed this film like an experienced one without compromising on freshness and contemporary feel. He has studied the attitude and decision-making style of current youth well and shown it in the movie. You would definitely come across such a few characters in real life. He has shown the darker side of love/relationship in an entertaining way. The second half should have been more crisp. I liked the way he inserted ‘ring tring’ song with masked faces of Telugu stars at key points of the film.

Ram gopal  Varma has made a film titled Dongala Mutha using still cameras (Canon 5D) to show the world that you don’t need a big set-up to make a feature film and it can be made in shoe-string budget. But unfortunately it was not liked by the people as the content was not up to the mark. Maruthi has used the same technique and made Ee Rojullo with a decent content and in an appalling budget of 75 lacs (big filmmakers spend more than this for a single song set). The seeds of Ram Gopal Varma are helping makers like Maruthi in bearing fruit with decent content. This film is carrying hit talk and is poised to make break-even in days (one or two) and will encourage new filmmakers to come up with many more under-1-crore film projects. But it is always the content that matters irrespective of budget.

movie Review Of Poola Rangadu

Sunil, Isha Chawla, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Dev Gill, Pradeep Rawat, Ali, Raghubabu, Dharmavarapu, Pruthvi, Satyam Rajesh, Duvvasi Mohan, Khalil, Pragati, Sudha, Sri Lalitha etc

Ranga (Sunil) is a happy-go-unlucky guy whose business ventures take a beating. As a final bid, he pledges his father’s ancestral property to buy some land in Warangal only to realize later that it is the bone of contention between two warring landlords. Sunil goes to Warangal to solve the problem and then decides that the only way to get his land back is to unite the two family through a marriage alliance. The rest of the story is all about how he gets his land back.

We have seen many actors performing exceedingly well, because they are labeled as dark horses. Sunil is latest dark horse in the film industry. When he turned as hero with Andala Ramudu, he won the hearts of audiences with comedy and sentiment. He upped the ante with Rajamouli’s Maryada Ramanna. He has decided that it takes much more than comedy, sentiment and sympathy to become a big hero and developed a six-pack. With Poola Rangadu, he has earned the name of ‘action hero’ which is only reserved for a few muscular heroes of Telugu cinema. Sunil is perfect with comedy, energizing dances and inspiring six-pack. His hard-work and dedication towards developing six-pack is truely amazing.

Isha Chawla is ok. Dev Gill and Pradeep Rawat acted as the warring landlords. Ali entertains as friend of hero. Satyam Rajesh is good though his role is a limited one. Kota Srinivasa Rao acts as father of Sunil. Raghu Babu, Pruthvi and Dharmavarapu provided comic relief.

First half of the film has decent comedy. Second half looks a bit dragged, but the climax is well-shot. The plus points of the movie are Sunil, dances, climax flight and entertainment. On the flipside, the freshness in story and crisp screenplay would have made a lot of difference to the movie. The film has mass orientation and has all ingredients to become a minimum guarantee film. You may watch Poola Rangadu for Sunil.
